Bonphul’s Executive Director, Arup Mazumdar was recently invited to RACON 2018, a two-day national event on the HVAC industry, annually organized by ISHRAE, Kolkata Chapter.

Mr Mazumdar also delivered a presentation on ‘Refrigerants – Trends, Impact & Future’, during a seminar themed as “Next Generation Technologies for Building and Industrial Services.”

His presentation focused on three different aspects surrounding the HVAC industry. In the first part of his presentation, Mr Mazumdar, an HVAC expert himself, spoke primarily about refrigerants and its various classes and their usages. He also pointed out the direct and indirect warming impact of refrigerants and its effect on the environment and global warming at large.  He also appealed for safety standards for market acceptance of low GWP (global warming potential) refrigerants.

In the other part of his presentation, Mr Mazumdar focused on the future of the leaders in the HVAC business in India. Citing examples of officials of Indian origin who have been successfully steering the helm of major corporates around the world, Mr Mazumdar advocated for a more global approach to the roles of leaders in India. “Among Fortune Global 500 CEOs today, 14% lead companies headquartered outside of their country of birth. Global-savvy executives are in high demand. Hence, India needs to look outward, and think globally while acting locally,” he mentioned in his presentation.
